Vanilla crates have to be destroyed outright, so moving a base wastes materials. These can be reclaimed, which suits **a play style where bases get rebuilt**.
Being backpack-craftable, you can add storage on the spot without a workstation — handy for setting up a temporary stash while out exploring.
